Product Updates - November 2025

In this month's product update, we're thrilled to announce exciting new features in idoba.plan version 1.2.0 and enhancements to idoba.sim that will significantly improve your operational efficiency and planning accuracy.

Production Planning Made Easier with idoba.plan version 1.2.0

idoba.plan version 1.2.0 is now available, with powerful new tools that let you model real-world operational constraints, work faster with smarter data entry, and seamlessly refine optimised plans with your expertise—all to deliver more accurate, practical production plans.

Here’s a closer look at what’s new.

Enhanced Value Chain Modelling Accuracy with Throughput and Storage Capacity Constraints

Model Your Operations with Real-world Precision

Your value chain just got smarter! Now you can set physical limits that mirror how your value chain actually works—because the best models reflect reality.

Define maximum storage capacities and throughput limits for any component in your value chain. Whether it's ROM Stockpile size, mill capacity, or shipping bottlenecks, you can now capture these real-world constraints right in your model.

Everything lives in one convenient place: the new Constraints tab brings together Throughput, Storage, and Custom constraints in a single view. Available in both Solve and Optimise scenarios, this gives you the power to make decisions based on what's actually achievable—not just what looks good on paper.

The result? More accurate forecasts, better planning, and confidence that your models match your operational reality.

Work Faster with Smarter Data Entry

We've made entering your production data quicker and easier, so you can spend less time on spreadsheets and more time on planning.

New Auto-fill functionality means you enter a value once and it populates across all time periods automatically. Perfect for stable parameters like processing rates or fixed capacities—just set it and adjust only the periods that change.

Need to start fresh? The new "Clear row" button wipes an entire row with one click, making it simple to revise assumptions or correct entries without tedious manual deletion.

These updates mean faster scenario setup, fewer data entry errors, and more time focused on optimising your integrated production plan.

Turn Optimised Plans into Real-World Scenarios

Planning is iterative—now your workflow can be too.

When you copy an Optimise scenario to a Solve scenario, the optimiser's recommended decisions automatically populate as your starting inputs. No re-entering data, no starting from scratch.

This means you can take the optimised plan and refine it with your operational expertise. Need to account for maintenance schedules the optimiser didn't consider? Want to test "what-if" scenarios based on the optimal baseline? Now you can explore alternatives quickly, applying your knowledge of the operation while building on solid optimisation results.

The result? Faster iterations, practical plans that balance optimisation with real-world constraints, and the flexibility to test scenarios confidently.

Improved Visibility of Material Flow and Stockpile Management with idoba.sim

This feature package introduces a suite of enhancements focused on stope drawdown, development mucking, and underground stockpile balances. These features are designed to improve visibility of material flow, leading to more reliable production and optimised equipment utilisation.

Improved Visibility of Material Flow

Enhanced visibility leads to higher equipment utilisation and lower operating costs through proactive, data-driven shift management.

The idoba.sim Material tracking module provides detailed shift-level reporting on simulated stope drawdown, development mucking, and underground stockpile performance. Users can view opening and closing balances for each stope and development heading, along with tonnes moved in and out of every underground stockpile relative to its design capacity.

With the new Material tracking module in idoba.sim, you can quickly see what stopes are empty and which ones have tonnes on the ground at shift end.

Automated Alerts for End of Shift Stockpile Utilisation

We’ve included Automated conditional formatting to highlight stockpiles that exceed 80% utilisation at the end of each shift, signalling potential bottlenecks for subsequent crews. This functionality empowers your planners and shift supervisors to identify production bottlenecks and prioritise rehandling, ensuring smooth material movement from drawpoints to the crusher.

Improved Material Flow Reliability

By highlighting stockpiles at risk of constraining production, idoba.sim helps maintain high equipment utilisation and shift productivity, maximising ore tonnes delivered to the mill while ensuring that priority development waste movement does not slow development advance rates. The enhanced visibility of stope and development balances supports better short-term decision-making, more accurate forecasting, and improved compliance to plan.

This capability also provides study teams with a defensible basis for validating production assumptions and quantifying the value of operational improvements before capital is committed.
